TARGET for Teens and Young Adults
TARGET (Trauma Affect Regulation: A Guide for Education and Therapy) is a 10-session model that provides education on the impact of stress on our mind and our bodies and helps to grow skills to balance and manage emotions, process information, and build and maintain healthy relationships. The emphasis in TARGET is collaboration, education, and empowering adolescents and young adults who have experienced extreme stressors, or traumatic events, to utilize skills for mental focusing, self-regulation, and enhancing relationships as a way to promote resiliency.
TARGET can be done virtually, in-person, or in combination, according to the specific needs of the individual.
T4 Groups for Adult Parents and Caregivers
T4 is a four-session group therapy for parents or caregivers of adolescents involved in or at risk for involvement in the juvenile justice system. “T” stands for TARGET, an evidence-based program to help people understand and cope with stress, and “4” represents the four practical skills that individuals learn over the sessions. The groups involve education on the impact of stress on young people and skill-building to help parents manage their own stress and develop new strategies to communicate and model self-regulation.
All T4 groups are held virtually.
